Caroline Collard Nutrition
I am a qualified Nutritionist (MSc) & Holistic Health Coach with a variety of nutrition qualifications and years of experience helping clients of all ages with areas such as weight management, sports nutrition, disease prevention & all round healthier lifestyles. I am passionate about the power of the key pillars of health – whole foods nutrition, regular exercise, stress management and improving sleep quality to tangibly improve health & well-being.
In addition to my nutrition qualifications, I have a joint honours degree (BSc) in psychology & sociology. I use this qualification to support my clients with a focus on health psychology; eating disorders and behaviours, stress, sleep patterns, plus looking at the social factors that influence our health, diseases & lifestyle choices.
I am also a qualified fitness instructor (Lv 2) and personal trainer (Lv 3). This previous experience in the fitness industry helps me to support those new to exercise, regular gym-goers, athletes and sports teams with their nutritional, fitness and other health needs.
I also have experience working alongside the NHS, supporting a hospital obesity clinic and their patients diagnosed with common chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure, heart disease and mental health issues.
Personalised
Our initial session will be dedicated to assessing your current health status and discussing changes you can make to fit your unique needs and goals.
I will listen to your concerns and help you to understand the impact that your current choices may be having on your health.
Targeted
I’ll work closely with you to explore your current health choices & the thought processes behind those choices.
I can help you to establish the steps you need to take for an overall healthier lifestyle, to improve health conditions or to enhance optimal performance.
Integrative
Since achieving all-round health is more than just nutrition, with my additional health qualifications, I can guide you towards other helpful holistic lifestyle practices.
I work with people across all of the life stages from childhood all the way up to elderly clients. The earlier you can start improving your health the better, but it is never too late to start making changes.
Making better health choices even in later life can not only add years onto your life, but can give an overall better quality of life by preventing non-communicable diseases that need not exist, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure & many more.
Nutrition, fitness & mindset are often the root causes of many health conditions. My consultations can support a wide range of health issues that may be affecting your everyday life & long-term health. I can also support those just wishing to improve their overall general health and those who wish to enhance athletic performance such as athletes or sports teams.
There are 4 main factors that drive athletic performance: genetics, training, diet & drive. While there isn’t much you can do about genetics, the other factors are largely up to you.
Diet alone can’t guarantee athletic success, but enriching the fuel that sustains your physical activity will improve your efficiency.
A deficient diet can undermine even the most consistent and determined athletic effort. The key to fuelling peak performance is consuming a healthy balance of all the necessary nutrients and meeting your energy needs.
I can help you to learn more about your unique energy needs and how to fuel your body for the specific type of activities you participate in.
Diet matters – and not just for your own health. Children model their eating habits on the influences in their environment, especially their parents or guardians.
Your dietary habits lay the foundations for life long health and so it is important that healthy habits are established at an early age.
I can help you to establish healthy habits for your children and advise you on the way in which to provide a nutritionally-rich diet that will support healthy growth from babies to teenagers.
Food Allergies & Intolerances
If your child has a food allergy or intolerance, I can help you to plan meals and find out more about the options available to your children when it comes to dealing with these conditions.
Eating a healthy diet during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding will give your baby the best possible start and will set the stage for a lifetime of good health for your whole family.
I can help you with any of the concerns you may have about providing a nutritious diet during your pregnancy and beyond.
I can advise you on what contributes towards a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby, how to help ensure an abundance of nutritious breast milk and excellent health and well-being for both mum and baby.
getting Enough Nutrients
As we age, our health requirements change. We should ideally eat carefully planned nutritious meals and exercise more.
We need to make sure we still get the right amount of energy from carbohydrates, healthy fats and proteins, minerals, vitamins, and fibre required for healthy ageing.
Changes with Age
As we age, our lean muscle tissue tends to shrink while our body fat typically increases. The shift from muscle to fat occurs for many reasons: changes in hormones and/or metabolic rate, plus reduced physical activity.
But the slippery slide from muscle to fat and excess weight isn’t the only option! I can help you to counteract this with a change in lifestyle that involves more focus on nutritious and filling foods, plus planning exercise that you can enjoy and that will be sustainable.
